$700,000 grant will help Germanna train heavy equipment operators

Germanna Community College has been awarded a two-year grant of $700,000 to train and certify heavy equipment operators as the demand for skilled workers has grown in Virginia. Germanna will use most of its share to build a virtual simulator lab for training heavy equipment operators, which will be based at the GCC Fredericksburg Center for Advanced Technology in Central Park which is supported regionally.
