The 3/50 Project

The 3/50 ProjectThe 3/50 Project is a national consumer awareness movement that encourages residents to support locally owned, independent brick and mortar merchants in their community.  “For every $100 spent in independently owned stores, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures.”  For complete details, visit www.the350project.net

How The 3/50 Project Works

Consumers choose three (3) locally owned, independent brick and mortar merchants (retailers, eateries, service providers, etc.) they love and don't want to lose, then commit $50 of their current monthly spending toward doing business with those merchants. Doesn't have to be new money or additional money--they can be dollars already in the budget!

“I chose to relocate to Stafford County in 1987 because of its proximity to Washington and Richmond and the opportunities it held to start and grow a business.  I opened Stafford Printing, bought a home in Falmouth and, 25 years later, I’ve never regretted either decision. Stafford County is a wonderful place to live and the business climate is second to none in the region. But it’s the people who make Stafford County the place to live and work in the area. Stafford County is more of a community than just a place on the map.“
