Dennis K. McBride, Ph.D.
Director, Stafford Technology + Research Center

Dr. Dennis K. McBride is Associate Vice President for Research at George Mason University and is currently serving part time as the Interim Director of the Stafford Technology + Research Park.  Dennis’ background includes over 30 years as a scientist and national level leader in the development and transition of high technology.  As (O-6, retired) Naval Officer/Scientist, McBride led several front line laboratories and national research programs from positions such as program manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Office of Naval Research, and the Naval Medical Research and Development Command.  As Executive Director of the Institute for Simulation and Training at the University of Central Florida, Dr. McBride was the de facto leader of the university-based research park that now performs over $1.3B in high tech research per year.  Dennis also served for eight years as President of the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, the leading non-partisan think tank on science and technology policy in support of Capitol Hill, the White House, and the judiciary.
