University of Mary Washington’s Continuing & Professional Studies Department is excited to announce The 2025 Business Acumen Series – a series of one-day seminars aimed at building leadership and business skills in the Fredericksburg region.
The 2025 Business Acumen Series (BAS) will focus on developing essential tools, strategies, and leadership principles for successfully planning, managing, and executing projects while fostering a culture of collaboration, communication, and purpose-driven leadership within teams and organizations.

This seminar provides essential tools to define project scope and understand its importance in guiding projects from inception to completion. You will learn to identify and prioritize stakeholders, enhance communication and relationship-building skills, and explore project cycles and planning. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of the phases of a project lifecycle and the tools needed for effective planning, minimizing risks and maximizing outcomes.
