Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation
Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment opportunities. Stafford’s Cyber Bytes Foundation and XCorp Solutions have both partnered with this program and to date have hired two veterans.

US SBA Office of Veteran Business Development
The Office of Veterans Business Development’s (OVBD) mission is to maximize the availability, applicability and usability of small business programs for Veterans, Service-Disabled Veterans, Reserve Component Members, and their dependents or survivors. OVBD is SBA’s liaison with the veteran’s business community; provides policy analysis and reporting; and is as an Ombudsman for veteran entrepreneurs. OVBD has a number of programs and services to assist aspiring and existing veteran entrepreneurs such as training, counseling and mentorship, and oversight of Federal procurement programs for Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.

Virginia Office of Veterans and Defense Affairs
The Virginia Department of Veteran Services (DVS) mission is to serve Virginia’s Veterans, Guardsmen, Reservists, and their family members. Their focus is to ensure veterans receive timely transition, employment and education assistance they have earned through service to our Nation and Commonwealth.

Virginia is home to the seventh-largest Veteran population in the Nation, and the greatest number of Veterans in the workforce per capita. This office focuses on employment of Veterans who have the current skills needed here in the Commonwealth. They are the primary liaison for the Commonwealth to the United States Department of Defense and its military communities.

Virginia Chamber of Commerce Foundation
Virginia’s HIRE VETS NOW, a statewide initiative launched in the Spring of 2018, brings together transitioning service members, veterans and dedicated businesses to share in camaraderie, professional development and career networking.

Monthly networking events, held on military installations, expand opportunities for veterans to gain access to career openings with Virginia Values Veterans (V3) employers and Chamber members prior to transitioning from the military.

Virginia’s HIRE VETS NOW is hosted by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, the Virginia Chamber Foundation and Transition Assistance Offices on military installations throughout the Commonwealth.

Virginia Values Veterans Program
The Virginia Values Veterans Program is a free training and certification program for employers to help them implement nationally recognized best practices in recruiting, hiring, and retaining highly-skilled and dependable Veterans.

The V3 Program is an official Commonwealth of Virginia Program, authorized under the Code of Virginia (§ 2.2-2001.2). It is organized under the directorate of Veterans Education, Training, and Employment (VETE), within the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS), an agency of the Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs.
