Stafford, VA – The Stafford County Economic Development Authority (EDA) proudly hosted its 2025 Business Appreciation Reception on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Potomac Point Winery & Vineyard. The evening brought together over 200 business professionals and community leaders to celebrate Stafford County’s vibrant business landscape and the significant contributions local enterprises make to the region’s economic vitality.
One of the highlights of the evening was the Stafford Legacy Business Recognition Program, which honored the women-owned, veteran-owned, minority-owned, and military-owned businesses that are helping to shape the heart of the community. Additionally, the program recognized businesses celebrating 20, 30, 40, and 50 years of service to Stafford County:

Three Stafford businesses were specially honored for their outstanding achievements:
- Innovation Award: Mary Washington Healthcare – OBGYN was recognized for advancing healthcare through groundbreaking robotic technology and a region-leading midwifery program that enhances care for women and families.
- Donald H. Newlin Stewardship Award: LOK Fashion Institute & Academy was honored for fostering student and community development through fashion education, entrepreneurship, and local business partnerships.
- Business of the Year: Process Over Prize Academy was celebrated for its exceptional customer service, community engagement, and commitment to personal development through Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
“This year’s Business Appreciation Reception was a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience that defines Stafford’s business community,” said Jack Rowley, Chairman of the Stafford County EDA. “We are honored to recognize the legacy, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of the businesses that make Stafford thrive.”
The event also featured a review of the resources available through the Stafford County Department of Economic Development and Stafford EDA to support local businesses, and gave attendees the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and celebrate.
“Stafford County remains committed to fostering a vibrant and forward-thinking community, and this reception is a reflection of that commitment,” said Liz Barber, Director of Economic Development. “We are proud of the diversity and dedication within our community and grateful to all who contribute to making Stafford a dynamic place to live and work.”
